Resources I used for SSC exams

Preparing for SSC exams like MTS, CHSL and stenographer requires consistency, smart strategy, and the right set of resources. In this post, I’ll share the exact study materials and platforms I used to clear SSC MTS and SSC Steno 2023. If you're serious about cracking these exams, avoid switching between too many sources. Stick to one or two trusted resources per subject and revise them thoroughly.

In this post, I will share the resources that i used for SSC exams. Always stick to one or two resources. Do not use multiple resource. Below are the resources that i used. You can these resources.

Maths Preparation

  • RBE by Shubham Jain : I completed the entire syllabus from this channel.
Competition preparation: Solved PYQs from here. Shubham Jain sir explains concepts in a very beginner-friendly way, especially for arithmetic and advanced maths. His teaching style is concise and exam-oriented.

  • Competition Preparation (YouTube Channel) After completing the syllabus, I focused on solving previous year questions (PYQs) from this channel. PYQs are crucial for understanding the pattern and frequently asked topics.
Tip: Make a formula notebook and revise it weekly. Practice time-bound quizzes to improve speed and accuracy.

Reasoning Preparation

Reasoning is all about pattern recognition and logical thinking. You don’t need multiple sources here.

  • Sigma Academy (YouTube Channel) This single channel was enough for mastering reasoning. The instructor covers all types of questions asked in SSC exams, including coding-decoding, puzzles, and series.

  • Testbook Sectional Mocks After learning the basics, I regularly attempted sectional mocks on Testbook. These helped me identify weak areas and improve my test-taking strategy.

Tip: Practice reasoning questions in a timer-based format to simulate exam pressure.

English

English can be tricky, especially for vocabulary and grammar. I focused on PYQs and contextual learning.

  • English with Rani Ma’am (YouTube Channel) This channel helped me immensely with vocabulary, grammar rules, and previous year questions. Rani Ma’am’s explanations are clear and easy to retain.

Tip: Maintain a personal vocabulary diary. Revise idioms, one-word substitutions, and commonly confused words regularly.

General Awareness

GA is vast, but with the right strategy, you can score well. I divided it into two parts: Static GK and Current Affairs.

 Static GK

  • Indologus (YouTube Channel) Their videos are concise and cover important topics like history, geography, polity, and economics.

  • SSC Crackers PDFs and Videos I used their downloadable PDFs for revision and watched their topic-wise videos for better retention.

 Current Affairs

  • Indologus (YouTube Channel) For monthly current affairs, Indologus was my go-to source. Their compilations are exam-focused and easy to revise.

Tip: Revise current affairs weekly. Focus on government schemes, awards, sports, and international events.

Final Strategy

  • Stick to 1–2 resources per subject.

  • Solve PYQs religiously.

  • Take regular mocks and analyze your performance.

  • Revise static GK and current affairs consistently.

  • Avoid resource-hopping—it leads to confusion and burnout.
